What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra, translated from Sanskrit as “yogic sleep,” is an ancient meditation practice that taps into the body’s natural sleep cycles to support profound healing and spiritual awakening. As we sleep, the body instinctively disengages from thought, moving us beyond the thinking mind. In Yoga Nidra, we consciously enter this same threshold, journeying into deeply restorative and meditative states while remaining awake and aware.

This practice is not about doing more. It is about letting go. While action arises from the mind, Yoga Nidra invites us into a state of pure being, where non doing allows healing and transformation to unfold naturally. By consistently resting in the space beyond thought, as pure awareness and consciousness, we reconnect with our essence of wholeness, love, and peace. This remembrance infuses the mind and body with the wisdom needed to restore balance on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

Yoga Nidra creates an optimal inner environment for healing. It supports the release of limiting beliefs, the integration of past experiences, and access to deep intuition and innate wisdom. Rather than putting us to sleep, Yoga Nidra gently wakes us up by guiding us through the doorway of sleep.

This training honors the traditional roots of Yoga Nidra while integrating modern understandings of mind-body relaxation and nervous system regulation.

With this training, you will learn to hold yourself & your students in such a gentle & nourishing approach to self awareness, self growth & self realization.

What past students have said:

“The Yoga Nidra Training led by Shay at Reunify was masterful. As a facilitator, Shay shared her embodied knowledge in a way that felt almost effortless to receive. The training itself was the perfect blend of philosophy, practical teaching essentials, and personal/spiritual exploration. I walked away with a deeper understanding of Yoga Nidra and its roots. I also felt ready and prepared to teach Nidra, thanks to the way Shay artfully outlined the modern applications of these ancient tools. Most importantly, the training grounded and enlivened me, personally. Each session provided me with an opportunity to go deep, spiritually, through practice. I am forever grateful to Shay and her program. The container she created, the healing space at Reunify, and the training cohort cultivated a rich soil for new seeds to plant and grow.” - Julia S
